About the company
Teri Cotton Santos is the Chief Compliance Officer for Phillips 66, a diversified energy company. She is responsible for overseeing the strategy, planning, and development of the company’s global ethics and compliance program, including its standards of conduct, policies, training, internal monitoring, and investigations. She has extensive experience advising companies and boards of directors on legal, compliance and risk matters in highly regulated industries including energy, pharmaceuticals, and financial services. Prior to joining Phillips in 2023, Teri was the Chief Compliance Officer for HF Sinclair, a global energy company with $38B in revenue. In this role she was responsible for the design and implementation of the company’s global compliance program which included managing risks such as cybersecurity, data privacy, global trade compliance and ESG. Previously she served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance and Risk Officer for The Warranty Group, a global provider of service contracts, extended warranties, and insurance. She previously served as an inhouse counsel for Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly), where she held roles of increasing responsibility, including General Counsel of Lilly’s Asian Operations and Assistant General Counsel, Litigation and Legal Compliance. Teri is also a former criminal prosecutor. Teri is a graduate of Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and Wellesley College.
