- About the speaker
- David Mindham is the Sr. Director, Regulatory Affairs and Market Development for EDP Renewables. In that role, he oversees a team covering RTO and regulatory strategy for North America. He also coordinates with FERC, DOE, NARUC, and various trade associations. He is active in several RTO stakeholder forums, including chair of the MISO Interconnection Process Working Group, a member of the SPP Strategic Planning and Members Committees, and a member of the ERCOT Protocol Revisions Subcommittee. He serves on the Board of Directors of Americans for a Clean Energy Grid, IEEE-USA, Clean Grid Alliance, and Southern Renewable Energy Association. Before his current role, he has held positions in RTO strategy, FERC strategy, and transmission planning at ITC Holdings Corp. He has successfully negotiated interconnection agreements that have brought over 3 GW of resources online throughout the Midwest. EDPR North America is a leading wind, solar, DG, hydrogen, and storage developer and operator in Houston, Texas. EDPR has developed and operates nearly 9 GW of renewable resources across North America, with several more GW in development. EDP is a global leader in the renewable sector and is the 4th largest renewable energy producer globally. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Tech University, a master’s focused in Management from Harvard University Extension School, a Certificate in Public Relations Strategy from Cornell University, and has taken graduate courses in economics and finance from Johns Hopkins. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a registered Professional Engineer in Michigan, and a Project Management Professional. David lives in Northville, MI, with his wife and two sons.
